Ingredients

Let's gather the ingredients!

  • 4 pcs hashbrowns Trader Joe’s
  • 1.25 lbs Chuck steak
  • 3 avocados ripe
  • 1 lime juice
  • 1 Serrano chili
  • cilantro for garnish
  • ½ tbsp onion powder
  • ½ tbsp garlic powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 3 tbsp oil

Instructions

Let's Begin!

    Steak

    • Preheat your oven to 400°F. Place the hashbrowns on a baking sheet and bake for 14-15 minutes or until golden and crispy.
    • Season the chuck steak with salt, pepper, onion powder, and garlic powder.
    • Heat 3 tablespoons of oil in a medium cast-iron skillet over high heat for about a minute. Once the oil is hot, reduce the heat to medium-high and sear the steak for 5 minutes on each side.
    • Remove the steak from the skillet and let it rest for 10 minutes.

    Avocado Mash

    • While the steak rests, mash the avocados in a bowl. Add the lime juice, salt, and pepper to taste, and mix until smooth.
    • If using Serrano chilies for extra heat, slice them thinly.

    Let's Assemble

    • Slice the rested steak. Layer the crispy hashbrowns with the avocado mixture, then top with the sliced steak. Add Serrano chilies and garnish with fresh cilantro.
    • Serve immediately and enjoy the epic flavors!
