  • 1½ tbsp granulated sugar
  • 1 tbsp baking powder
  • ¼ tsp kosher salt
  • 1 cup chocolate milk
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • 1 large egg
  • 2 tbsp unsalted butter melted
  • Chocolate chips optional, for extra chocolatey goodness

  1. In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt.
  2. In a separate bowl, whisk together the chocolate milk, egg, vanilla, and melted butter
  3. Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it’s okay if there are a few lumps.
  4. Heat a lightly greased skillet or griddle over medium heat.
  5. Pour 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet for each pancake. If desired, sprinkle chocolate chips onto each pancake.
  6. Cook until bubbles form on the surface of the pancakes, then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side.
