- 2 cans of diced tomatoes ( one fire roasted if you want smokey)
- 1 a white onion
- 2 Juice of 2 limes
- 1 tbsp of garlic salt
- 1 cup of cilantro
- 1/2 jalapeño
- 1 tbsp salt or salt to taste
Add diced tomatoes, onion, lime juice, garlic salt, cilantro, jalapeño, and salt to a blender.
Pulse until your desired consistency — smooth or chunky.
Taste and adjust salt, lime, or cilantro if needed.
Chill for at least 20 minutes before serving to let flavors meld.
- For a thicker salsa, drain one can of tomatoes before blending.
- Want more heat? Leave in some jalapeño seeds, or add a serrano pepper.
- For a smoky, restaurant style flavor, use fire roasted tomatoes.
- If your tomatoes taste acidic, add a pinch of sugar to balance it out.
- Tastes even better after chilling, store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 5 days.
